Finally, a moment to sit down and write this post! I have been planning on doing it since last week but so many things kept coming up and then the weekend was full of fantastic fun with the training sessions I did on Saturday & Sunday plus the excitement of seeing that 70.0kg on the scales and therefore hitting the milestone of 40kg lost.
Week 12 of Round 2 was sensational. Simply sensational. All my hard work paid off and I finished stronger and leaner than I have ever been in my life.
My mantra for the week was Outshine, Outlast, Outrun & Outloud.
I aimed to outshine my previous levels of commitment and persistence and to outlast my efforts in all previous training session, outrun my previous times and to shout outloud my achievements and be proud to shine! No sidelines. No doubling back. No hesitation.
So this post is part of that commitment I made – to shout out my achievements.
On Sunday, the eve of Week 12 I completed Mish’s ‘Try-athlon’ that was set for Saturday 13 August. I had other plans for training for that weekend so I decided to get this one ticked off early to start the week as I meant to go on.
Monday I fronted up a second time for a 1 RM session to re-test myself and grab it on video. I did it again, rock solid.
Tuesday was a rest day in preparation for Wednesday’s BHAG attempt. I worked, I had a massage and got an early night.
Wednesday I completed my Major Milestone. The biggest, hairiest and most audacious goal to date: my 3rd Sparan 300 Challenge. I completed it with the increased level of difficulty, doing all V-sits, instead of butterfly sit ups and did it in much less time: 19min 08sec! Same workout 3.5 weeks ago took me 24min02 sec. My goal was sub 20 mins which I thought was very ambitious. Seems it is a brilliant idea to set huge goals – Mish is right on that one! The pic to the left is a very happy, beetroot-faced Spartan!
Wednesday was also the big day for our final weigh in, measurements and fitness test. I also had my DEXA Scan booked in. Of course, the after photo also needed to be taken and submitted. So Wednesday was a day of gathering the evidence and looking at the progress I had made and discovering the extent of my transformation after just 12 weeks of the Lean & Strong program.
Thursday I trained. Friday I rested with the anticipation of the weekend ahead!
Saturday was a really big day for me, bigger than the Wednesday even when all my stats and results were in and I completed my BHAG. It started at 5am, I jumped on the scales and saw 70.0kg! A milestone reached – Farwell to 40kg! I declare I have gone from F**ked to Fab in 4 rounds of 12WBT. Happy Nekkid Dancing ensued! I then headed in to Zenergy for a 7am Saturday Session with some trepidation. I was going outside of my comfort zone but I went into the fear … and I thrived in that session!
Sunday, the final day of Round 2, was being celebrated with a huge 2.5hr of training with a buch of awesome 12WBTers. My day started at 5am when I bounced out of bed and found my brightest training gear for our “Bright & Beautiful” Themed epic double session!! A 7am Sunday Session at Zenergy followed by the 1.5hr Pain in Paradise Boot Camp at New Farm Park. To mark the miestone of losing 40kg, I found 2 x 20kg plates at the gym and used these to get a feeling for just how much 40kg is. Afterwards we went home to our fave café for the best brekky of museli, fruit and yoghurt I think I have ever consumed. Followed by the best shower and the best power nap!! What a way to end the round!
Today is a rest day, just some walking and of course, work and indulging in time to post up all my results and pics as well as wrap things up on the Round 2 forums and say hello Round 3!
I woke up incredibly sore but grinning from ear to ear. It has been a damn great round. I have given it my very best and emerge the best version of me I can possibly be!!
Xx Ange
