Celebrate all your small successes. Yes – the *small* ones.
I used to delay gratification, delay reward, delay celebrating successes until I reached some perfect moment or point or achievement…. but then I would shift the bar & raise it (that in itself is not such a bad thing!) and never ever celebrate any success that I had…. because I never ever reached “the goal” or “the end”… SOOO unhealthy.
By celebrating the small successes it gives you something – or many things even – to celebrate each day or week. Big successes take longer to achieve – and yes they must be followed with appropriately big celebrations – but don’t hold off on celebrating the small wins along the way.
Celebrating your small successes keeps you inspired.
Celebrating your small successes gives you some oomph to keep working toward that goal.
Celebrating the small successes gives you a taste of the big celebration to come!!
What small successes have you had today or this week? How have you celebrated these??
It might be that you have gone shopping & stuck to your 12WBT shopping list. Or that you have cooked meals at home instead of grabbing takeaway on the way home from work. Perhaps it is that small – but significant – win of just feeling like ‘stuff’ is getting easier: easier to get out of bed to go train or easier to say no to chocolate.
Have you rewarded yourself for these successes?? Perhaps with some delicious ‘me’ time or a new lipstick. The celebrations do not have to be large or extravagant. Just small ways of acknowledging your success – attaching a positive reward to your achievement.
I would love to hear about your successes so far in round 2 of 12WBT and how you have been celebrating these!
xx Ange

Great post! And just what I needed….
I completed the last two rounds of the Huggies 12wbt and lost 15kgs to be sitting roughly at my goal weight of 62kgs!!! High five!
Butttttt, when this horrible cold weather set in I also found I was falling back into bad habits – namely BAKING! I found myself using the kids as a reason (read excuse) for baking. However, my small but VERY significant win came about the other day at the shop when I made the decision to put the caster sugar and flour back on the shelf!!! If it’s not in the house, I will not eat it! SMALL WIN, HUGE SUCCESS, HAPPY ME!!!!!
