Life got a whole lot better when I became extremely fed up some time ago and implemented the No Asshole Rule.
I stumbled across a book by the same name written by Robert Sutton. I loved it & followed it’s advice.
Bottom line: Assholes kindly show yourselves the door… it slams shut behind you so take care that it does not hit you up the ass on the way out!
I’ve had the No Asshole Rule in place for a while & I am getting better at implementing it. Now I’m in a place where I have absolutely no guilt or worry of offending someone by saying this out loud. Only assholes are likely to be offended… and they already know what to do: head for the door & watch out when it slams!
Do you need to implement the No Asshole Rule in your life??

what’s happen when the a****olè are my parents? They are terrible, so critic and negative to me….but they are my parents and I need to show respect to them…anyway I am trying to put some distance between us….
That is a tough one Valerie! Respect is essential in all relationships….. and it has to be a two way street. Are they respecting you when they act negatively toward you?? Is that something you can talk to them about? Have you ever tried to tell them how you feel? I hope there is a positive outcome for you! xxx
