Attack! Attack The Week! Attack Your Goals!

Attack! Attack! Attack!

The first time I heard Jodie (one of my Zenergy coaches) say this to me in a training session I was taken back for a moment….I had never encouraged myself to “attack” anything… no one else had ever encouraged me to attack anything either.  It was a new concept that hit me mid-training session.

This happened in a session last year when I first tried to flip the big mother trucker tractor tyre on my own; Jodie & Tony both were shouting at me so loudly. It was the first time I that I had experienced what I would previously have described as really intensely and directly “yelled at” in a workout. A strange thing happened…. it really helped! I was momentarily jarred and  distracted but I shook that off, refocused started thinking “Yes! I will attack this and get it done!!

I flipped that mother trucker tractor  tyre…. and I flipped it again and again.

I realised this ‘Attack! Attack! Attack!” chant from Jodie was not aggressive or  ’yelling at me’. It was enocuragement, support and got me itno the right mindset so my body followed! It was freakin’ fantastic!

Jodie is often heard to say “Attack! Attack!  Attack your workout!”  in sessions…. I love it!  I have started to say it to myself now… started to think about attacking and conquering my goals.

This is yet another way I  have changed my mindset and my self talk. I have changed my idea about the word ‘attack’ always being negative or aggressive. I can now appreciate loud, direct, enthusiastic encouragement during a workout. It is not being “yelled at”. I regularly experience this type of vigorous encouragement during training and it is fantastic!

Now that I have my fitness qualification and am training others I have been learning how to encourage people during a workout and seeing how people respond. It is incredible to see them gather all their strength, set their jaw and focus to achieve a goal.

This is a call to arms!!

Are you ready to ATTACK the week team??! Are you ready to ATTACK your workout? ATTACK your goals?

Get into ATTACK mode. The thing you least want to do – DO IT. The shittiest chore or task… the most boring stuff… get in there and GET IT DONE.

  1. great post – never looked at my goals as something to be attacked. I am learning sooo much! GOals have previously been something I’d hoped to achieve, and I had a plan, but … maybe…. if…. Attack. I’m going to attack this week big time.
