TAKE THE PRESSURE DOWN
Have you got a Healthy Heart? Read my case study published by the heart foundation for the Healthy Heart Challenge.
Being a health researcher focussed on prevention of disease and lowering risk factors, as well as being someone with a past history of malignant hypertension and significant family history of heart disease, heart health is high on my list of things we should all think about.
I could not say it better than the Heart Foundation currently does on their website for the Go Red For Women campaign: Did you know 90% of Australian women have at least one risk factor, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or family history? Don’t become a statistic. The signs are not always obvious, but you can do something about it. There are lots of ways you can get involved to help raise awareness about women and heart disease and help make a difference. For example, visit your GP or encourage someone you love to get their heart health checked.
I do lots of things to help raise awareness of health health and to also keep my heart healthy. One thing I have recently done is agreed to be a case study for the Heart Foundation and allow them to post my story under their “Inspirations” page. I am now sharing this with you in the hope that you will read and think about your own heart health.
