I love to cook and bake. Have done ever since I can remember. Being in the kitchen is like being in the laboratory – wondering what you can concoct or create by combining things in different ways!
I love to try new recipes and prepare food to share with my family and friends. It is one way that we often show our love for others – to feed them. I used to create the most insanely decadent things – I cringe now at the thought of the sugar and fat laden treats I used to turn out regularly!! So, I have swapped the hours spent baking (and eating!) cakes and sweets for experimenting in the kitchen with clean, nutritious and delicious foods.
Poking about in the kitchen is one of my favourite ways to unwind – and to be honest, when I started to eat clean and focus on weight loss I felt a bit lost without that kitchen-time. Rather than avoiding the kitchen and cooking I became determined to find pleasure in cooking new types of things.
I am also very time poor and budget conscious so I needed to find recipes I could cook in bulk and freeze to save time. I found lots of local produce at nearby farms as well, so that kept the costs down. Over the last 18 months I have developed the recipes below. We still eat these regularly, usually have most in the freezer. I am constantly experimenting with new receipes, so stay tuned! Here are some faves to date – enjoy! xx Ange
